The Tibor Riptide is a high-performance fly fishing reel that has been a favorite of discerning fly fishermen since its introduction in 1995. Designed by Ted Juracsik, this reel has earned a reputation for its innovative design, exceptional performance, and durability. It is especially popular among anglers who target species like Bonefish, Permit, Wahoo, and Tuna, which require a high rate of line retrieval and greater control over the reel.
One of the standout features of the Tibor Riptide is its large arbor spool. This design innovation allows for a faster rate of line retrieval, which is essential when fishing for fast-moving species like Bonefish and Tuna. The large arbor also gives anglers greater control over the reel, making it easier to fight these powerful fish and bring them in.
The Tibor Riptide is also known for its impregnated cork disc drag system, which delivers the smoothest and most reliable performance in the water. The drag system is essential for controlling the fish and preventing them from taking too much line too quickly. The impregnated cork material used in the drag system provides excellent friction and is highly durable, making it a popular choice for serious anglers.
In addition to its performance features, the Tibor Riptide is also highly durable and built to last. It is made from high-quality materials, including aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel, which are both lightweight and resistant to corrosion. The reel is also designed to be easy to maintain, with a simple, modular design that allows for easy cleaning and repairs.
