Pine Squirrel hair is a relatively new item on the fly tying scene but it has become very popular in a short time. Flies such as John Barrs Slumpbuster and Landon Meyers Mini Leech feature the material.

Wapsis pine squirrels are soft tanned and are available both in their natural color and 13 dyed colors. Although the underfur can be used as dubbing our favorite use of the material is as a zonker strip.

These are cut in (1/8) zonker strips.
